The standard residential septic system: tank, distribution box, and drain field. Effluent flows from the tank to the field by gravity. Well-suited for lots with adequate soil perc rates and proper setbacks. Low maintenance, long-lasting when correctly sized and installed.

ALTERNATIVE AND ENGINEERED SYSTEMS

Some lots in Fairfield County do not support a conventional gravity system - the soil perc rate is too slow, the lot is too small, or setback requirements limit placement options. We assess the site and identify what system type is permitted and appropriate. Options vary based on soil test results and local health department requirements.
